Brief Introduction

For this type of brush dc machines, if the brush height wears to the minimum limiting value, replace brushes in same mark uniformly. To keep in good contact between brush and commutator, brush grinding should be conducted. The procedures are as follows: wrap tightly the emery cloth on commutator surface and make the emery side contact with brush, rotate armature back and forth so as the column-sized emery cloth can grind the brush until the contact surface between brush and commutator larger than 75%. At last, clean and remove the carbon dust. Normal operation shall be conducted after half an hour idling running.
