Featuring classic wound‑rotor construction, the motor connects external variable resistance into the rotor circuit during start‑up. This setup cuts down inrush starting current and raises starting torque, mitigating grid disturbance. Users must never short‑circuit rotor windings directly; external rotor resistance is mandatory for safe motor start‑up.
