With the process of industrial development, the company has also changed from the most commonly used old manual arc welding to the current CO2 gas shielded welding as the main welding method.

 

At present, the company's high-voltage motor frame, DC motor frame, high-voltage shaft welding rib plate, fan, fan frame and other parts and products are all welded by CO2 gas shielded welding. CO2 gas shielded welding is mainly an arc welding method using welding wire as the melting electrode. Its process has high economic benefits and low cost. The quality of welding parts can also meet the basic requirements of product processing. In order to meet the high quality requirements of railway and other customers for the production of weldments, we must find better welding methods to complete the processing of products, such as mixed gas welding, laser welding, and so on. At this time, the shortcomings of CO2 gas shielded welding in the past appeared. During the welding process, the high temperature led to large metal spatter at the welding position, and the weld appearance was relatively rough, especially when the welding parameters were not selected, the spatter was even more serious, resulting in difficulties in cleaning the welding position, dead corner and surrounding welding slag in the later stage.

 

At present, company adopts CO2 and Ar mixed gas welding on a pilot basis, and the stator core rib plate welding process of the punching and riveting branch factory is preferred. It is hoped that this welding method can improve the apparent quality of the weld. Trial production results show that this welding mode has high deposition efficiency, beautiful weld formation, stable welding arc, stable droplet transfer, and small welding spatter.

 

Through the pilot of mixed gas welding process, the welding quality is obviously improved, the welding slag is reduced, and the grinding process can be basically eliminated. In the next step, this mixed gas welding method will be gradually popularized in each welding process.
