According to reports from China Industry News, Inovance Technology has launched an industrial motor equipped with hairpin windings, which the company claims is the world's first industrial motor adopting this cutting-edge winding technology. Coincidentally, JASUNG also stated that it developed industrial permanent magnet motors with hairpin winding technology back in 2014. These products have been put into operation at customer sites and run stably for more than a decade.

What advantages do hairpin winding industrial permanent magnet motors with have over conventional motors?

Such motors feature prominent strengths including substantially higher efficiency and lower power loss, higher power density with compact dimensions, stable performance in harsh operating conditions, as well as lower noise and longer service life.

 

Hairpin windings can raise the slot fill factor by 20% to 30%. This effectively reduces winding resistance and cuts copper loss, leading to a remarkable improvement in motor efficiency.
