Brief Introduction

For YE4 series 3 phase AC machine motor powered by the static converter power supply, the voltage, frequency and waveform are not applicable, and the rated voltage shall be specified in the agreement. For motors designed to be powered by a voltage source inverter according to IEC60034-18-41 with a type insulation structure, manufacturers can label the insulation structure with a pulse voltage class (IVIC) according to IEC60034-18-41. In this case, the insulation structure phase-to-phase should meet the IVICC level, and the phase-to-ground should meet the IVICB level or the level agreed between the manufacturer and the user. IVIC rating should be marked in the document and marked on the nameplate better.

When any switching or rapid reclosing of the AC motor bus occurs, for example, the supply of its voltage is controlled by the requirements specified by the grid, It can cause very high peak current to endanger the stator winding end and produce very high peak torque, even up to 20 times the rated torque to endanger the mechanical structure including the coupling and the equipment being driven or being driven, so the busbar switching or rapid reclosing is only allowed if accepted by the motor and the manufacturer of the driven equipment and stated in the specification. For motors with a rated capacity of 10MW or 10MVA or less, slow reclossing of more than 15 times the open circuit time constant is permitted. For motors with a rated capacity greater than 10MW or 10MVA, the minimum allowable slow reclosing time should be determined by the system integrator through transient analysis of the complete system, and this minimum slow reclosing time should be allowed if accepted by the manufacturer of the motor and the driven equipment.
