Brief Introduction

The IEC standard is mainly used in European countries such as Sweden, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and so on. The GB standard motor in our country is similar to the IEC standard motor. The working frequency of the IEC standard motor is 50Hz, the working voltage is 380V, and the corresponding synchronous speed of the motor is 3000RPM for a 2-pole motor; 4-pole motor 1500RPM; 6-pole motor 1000RPM. Famous motor brands include ABB motors, SIEMENS motors, LS (LEROY SOMER), Emerson, and Lysima motors.

IEC standard protection level definition

IP is the method of motor protection described in the IEC standard, usually composed of IP+two digits. Each number has a specific meaning. The first digit describes the protective measures against solid entry. The second digit describes the protective measures to prevent liquid from entering.

The first number is defined as follows:

0 Unprotected motor without specialized protection

A motor with a solid protection greater than 50MM can prevent large areas of human body from accidentally touching or approaching live or rotating parts inside the shell. Can prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 50mm from entering the shell

Motors with a solid diameter greater than 12mm can prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 12mm from entering the casing

Motors with a solid diameter greater than 2.5mm can prevent tools or wires with a diameter greater than 2.5mm from touching or approaching live or rotating parts inside the casing

4. Motors with solid protection greater than 1mm can prevent wires or strips with a diameter or thickness greater than 1mm from touching or approaching live or rotating parts inside the casing

5. Dust proof motors should withstand splashing water in any direction without any harmful effects
